Country’s King and Queen Have Ended Their Relationship

Rumors have swirled about Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton divorcing, almost months before they ever even got married, but the pair knew the truth and those rumors were just that…Rumors. Until today, when it was confirmed that the couple had not only split, but are officially divorced.

“This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues,” the couple stated. “Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

Normally, I don’t post about divorces or splits, because it’s everywhere under the category of ‘news’ and it’s none of my business to speculate, recall the moments that could have been warning signs or even taking a walk down memory lane of their romance and how they fell in love. But, I feel like I wanted to say something about this couple, in particular, especially being part of the country music family that I have so much love for, regardless of where I stand as a fan or supporter.

I’m writing, because this is more than just about Lambert or Shelton, it’s about the fact that they are also human. The media, fans and pop culture in general put celebrities on a pedestal that nothing will ever happen to them or they can do no wrong (and I’m also guilty of this). But, more than that, we forget that in the midst of our pointing blame and accusations, there are real lives behind the screens of what you tweet or blog or Facebook arguments. While it may come across easy for them to announce a statement like this to the media, I’m sure their hearts are breaking, regardless of the situation or what we didn’t see behind closed doors. They don’t need other opinions of those who didn’t even know them to tell them how they could have done it differently or made it work. So, it’s important that all of us be mindful of how we treat these situations.

Moving forward, I really do wish Blake and Miranda the best for their futures.

That is all.
