Captain America: Civil War

I was never a fan of superhero movies. I thought they were stupid and overrated. Why do we make such a big deal about Spiderman or Superman? What have they done that makes them heroes? Then, “The Avengers” was getting ready to come out and my friends were freaking out about it. They asked me to go, and I decided  ‘why not?’ After watching this team of unlikely people get together to save the world, I suddenly understood the hype. From that point on, I considered myself a superhero fan.

My best friend, Marissa, kept telling me that I would really like Captain America, because he was old-fashioned, traditional, he’s all about America and just a really good guy. I figured I’d give that a shot…So, I did. And I LOVED it.

As I’m sure most of you know, “Captain America: Civil War” came out last week, and I was there on Thursday night to see it in IMAX. My first IMAX movie. And it was EPIC. This was the best Captain America film of the saga thus far. Most times, the plot gets a little too technical and I lose details about midway through. With “Civil War,” I was hooked from the beginning. Most of the superhero films start off on the slower side, and gain speed as the plot builds, but this one wasted no time and hit the ground running. There’s action, a little bit of love, friendship, action, and it just has you sitting on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Other notes: I love Elizabeth Olsen and the fact that she was in this movie. Spiderman is seriously hilarious and added that missing element of humor. I love Iron Man’s (Robert Downey Jr.) sarcasm, as always. AND THOSE CAMEOS.

I was falling asleep during the movie, because I’d worked all day and I always manage to fall asleep before midnight, but I did stay awake. It was epic. It was a good night with friends, and I’m so glad I went. It was also entertaining to see adults dressing up in their best Captain America gear.

That’s all for now,
